Changing your VPS Password on Linux

This guide will show you ways to change your VPS password using Linux. We recommend taking this action after you have received your login details.

 

Sharing Logins

You should never share your password with anybody you do not trust. PloxHost staff will never ask for your login details!


Changing password via Control Panel

You can change your root password by accessing the control panel.

 

Press the 'Settings' Tab, Access 'Change Password'

Enter your new password, then reboot your server! You must reboot your server in order for the change to take effect.


Changing password via SSH (Linux)

Access your VPS by logging in via SSH.

Enter the command:

passwd

Follow that with your password you are wanting to set.

After you have went through the steps. Your password has been changed.
