How to disable the Nether

Sometimes, server owners need to disable certain features from their servers either to optimize their server or because these features are not needed, one of those features might be the Nether dimension, which is normally the first dimension that the player goes to during a normal playthrough.

 

In this guide, we'll show you how to easily remove the Nether and prevent users from joining; you don't even need to leave your control panel.

 

Vanilla & Paper servers

  • Navigate to the PloxPanel > File Manager
  • Locate the server.properties file and open it.

  • Inside your server.properties file, locate the allow-nether line and set the value to false

  • Restart your server

 

Bedrock Edition

For Bedrock players, there isn't a single file or command that disables the Nether or End dimension; you need to either use a behavior pack or a command block that blocks the Nether portal from being enabled. The best way to do this would be via a command block; the command block needs to be enabled in an active chunk so that it's always running. The video below explains how to do this:
